February Payments
February 7th, 2008 at 05:08 pmOkay so to say the least, I've strayed since I first started my crusade to be debt free. I figure it took me many, many trys to finally quit smoking, so this will probably be the same.
In January I was still using my credit cards. So now I've made a plan and I'm on track. I have to start somewhere right? I'm so excited!
It will take us approximately 2 to 3 years to become debt free. My DH and I have 2 children, we both work, and we have a ton of debt. I still don't feel comfortable saying how much...let's just agree that ANY debt is too much!
I'm very much ready to be debt free. Our kids are 8 & 6 and I think it's time for them to learn good spending habits from us. I hope it's not too late!
So February payments are breaking down like this:
2/1 half of WAMU
2/8 other half of WAMU
2/14 DH JCPenney CC($224) & my JCPenney CC ($272)
2/22 Wal-Mart CC ($218) & Dental CC ($279)
2/29 DH Target CC ($300)
By the end of February I plan to have paid off 5 credit cards. That leaves us with 12 CC remaining as well as an auto payment and house payment.
I think paying off the smaller balances will be just what we need to get going!
